New exhibition "Arròs a la Valencia per a la reina d'Espanya"
Hey, hey! We have some great news! The Museu Comarcal de l'Horta Sud Josep Ferrís March in Torrent, Valencia, has organized an exhibition about Valencian rice that will leave you speechless.
And it's no wonder, because this exhibition tells the story of the rise in rice cultivation in the 18th century and how it became one of the world's most famous dishes: paella! So, if you're someone who likes to stay on top of the latest culinary trends, this exhibition is for you!
There you can see real menus from the era in which the famous dish appeared. Imagine being able to see firsthand how they ate at the Spanish court more than two centuries ago! Amazing, right?!
But that's not all, because they're also going to tell you how the emigration of many Valencian men and women to the city of Madrid, as well as the contact of religious people in the kitchens of convents in Spain and the American viceroyalties, fostered the beginning of the international success of what was then called 'Valencian rice' .
Let's go back 30 years to the last time anyone wrote about this topic . Do you know when that was? In 1818, more than two centuries ago! A certain Francisco de Paula Martí Mora recorded the cooking method for this delicious grain. According to him, for it to turn out well, it must be cooked over a very high heat.
But don't worry, you don't need a time machine to learn more about this dish! The president of the Museu Comarcal and the Mancomunitat, José Francisco Cabanes, invites all the residents of the region to visit an exhibition that explains everything. In addition to discovering the secrets of Valencian rice, you can explore all the wonders the museum holds .
So, friends, if you want to learn a little more about your history and, at the same time, enjoy a delicious plate of rice, you can't miss this exhibition! We'll be waiting for you!
